I want a jacket like that

I finally saw Drive last night, and man. It has been a while since a film was such a complete aesthetic package. The cinematography, acting, and soundtrack came together perfectly. I have a weakness for 80's inspired electronic music anyway, but it matched up perfectly with the modern western/crime/action/noir story that is set in L.A. Gosling's character remains unnamed throughout the film, distancing him from the audience as he is distanced from the other characters. Hearing the synthesizers thump as he drives the cold, mean streets at night just felt right. It's like some combination of Terminator, Blade Runner, and A History of Violence. Why can't more movies offer an audio/visual one-two combination punch like this?

I love when you see things that make you want to put more beauty or truth into the world.
